If the app freezes or crashes after the update, try restarting the app.

To restart the mydlink® Home App on most Android devices, tap and hold on the Menu button at the bottom of your smartphone or tablet, the list of all running apps will display, look for the mydlink Home App and swipe the app up or to the right depending on the Android device you have. Procedures for restarting the app may vary depending on your Android device.  Reopen the mydlink® Home App by taping on its app icon.
If you have trouble finding your menu button or restarting your device following the instructions above, please find the correct procedure in your phone/tablet manufacturer’s user manual.

If the problem reoccurs after restarting the app, recognize that we are currently working on an updated version of the app to address this issue. Please check the Google Play Store to ensure you have the latest version of the app.

Step 1:  Before setting up motion recording, make sure the camera’s motion detection settings are enabled and configured
Step 2:  When setting up motion recording, make sure the manual recording button is disabled in the LIVE VIDEO tab


Step 3:  Go to SETUP then Recording Schedule



Step 4:  Set the RECORDING MODE to Record by Schedule




Step 5:  In the RECORDING SCHEDULE, set the Schedule to Day or Week.  For simplicity, in this example we will set the schedule to day.


Step 6:  In the Camera List, select the camera we wish to configue.  Then click Configure in the Schedule section.


Step 7:  By default the Mode set would be Always Record.  If we wish to set this camera to record by motion, set the Mode to Record on Event.

The motion window should appear, and check mark the camera we wish to record on motion.

Notice the selected camera has been changed to blue.  The BLUE bar signifies the camera recording moce is set by Event, while the RED bar signifies the camera recording mode is set to Always recording.

Save the settings by clicking Save Settings



Step 8:  Verify if the Recording Schedule has started.  Go back to the LIVE VIDEO, and on the top right corner. You should see a blue or red status icon :

  • Blue –  indicates recording has started but is waiting for motion to be detected in order to trigger the recording.
  • Red –  indicates the live feed is being recorded.





You have now configured your NVR motion recording.

Using IE


Step 1:  To view the LIVE VIDEO and PLAYBACK, please make sure to install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package.  The file can be located on the included CD, at, or by clicking on the “Download from Microsoft Web Site” on the Warning pop up message.

Step 2:  Make sure to allow all add-ons to properly view the LIVE VIDEO and PLAYBACK.


Using Firefox
Step 1:  To view the LIVE VIEW and PLAYBACK, please make sure to download/install the latest version of Java.
Step 2:  Click the “Activate Java Platform SE 7 U.” link or click the block icon to the left of the address bar
Step 3:  Click to Allow Now or Allow and Remember
Step 4:  Run the Java application.
Step 5:  Allow the security warning popup.
Step 6:  You should now be able to see the LIVE VIEW or PLAYBACK
Using Chrome
Step 1:  To view the LIVE VIDEO and PLAYBACK, please make sure to download/install the latest version of Java.
Step 2:  Right click the viewing area, and Run this plug-in
Step 3:  Or click the icon on the far right hand corner of the address bar to Always allow plug-ins to on X.X.X.X
Step 4:  Run the Java application
Step 5:  Allow the security warning popup.
Step 6:  You should now be able to see the LIVE VIDEO or PLAYBACK
Using Safari
Step 1:  To view the LIVE VIDEO and PLAYBACK, please make sure to download/install the latest version of Java.
Click on the Java blocked for this website 
Step 2:  Trust to run this plug-in.
Step 3:  Run the Java application
Step 4:  If you get an error message on the bottom of the LIVE VIDEO, such as the picture below in the red box, continue on to Step 5 to 10.
Step 5:  Go into Safari’s Preferences…
Step 6:  Click on the Security button.  Make sure Internet plug-ins: is check marked, and click on Manage Website Settings…
Step 7:  In the Java plug-in section.  Under Currently Open Websites, you should see the IP address of the DNR.  On the drop menu, set to Run in Unsafe Mode.
Step 8:  Trust to run the website in unsafe mode
Step 9:  Allow the Java application
Step 10:  We should now be able to view the LIVE VIDEO or PLAYBACK

Step 1 Connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port located on the back of the camera and connect it to a networking device such as a router or switch.


If you are connecting the D-Link DCS-3220G to a wireless network connect the antennas to the back of the unit.

Step 2 Attach the external power supply to the DC power input connector located on the back on the camera labeled 12V DC and connect the other end to a wall outlet.


When you have a proper connection, the LED will change from red to green. If you are directly connected to the camera via a crossover cable, the light may cycle on and off and your computer may show an intermittent loss of connectivity. This will stop once you have configured the camera from your computer.

Step 3 Use the Install Wizard to detect the camera.

In order to view your mydlink camera remotely through the mydlink portal or using the mydlink app, you must first register your camera to a mydlink account. This is done by running the installation CD or camera installer which came supplied with your camera. If you have not yet registered your camera with mydlink, please visit to download the installer for your camera.


Using mydlink Web Portal


Step 1: Log in to your mydlink account at



Step 2: Select your mydlink camera to view live video.



mydlink Lite App


Step 1: Download and install the mydlink Lite app from your smartphone’s application store (Android or iOS)


Step 2: Log into the app with your user mydlink username/password





Your camera(s) are now visible. Select the DCS-2136L from the list of available cameras to view your live video feed.
