Step1: Open a web browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, or Safari) and enterhttp://dlinkrouter.local. /. You can also enter the IP address of the router (http://192.168.0.1). XP users should enter http://dlinkrouter.

Step 2: When the Welcome screen appears, click Next to continue.

Step 3: If the router automatically detects your Internet connection type, skip to step 5. If not, then select your Internet connection and click Next to continue.

Step 4: Cable users (DHCP) click Next to continue.

DSL (PPPoE) users enter your PPPoE User Name and Password supplied by your ISP (Internet Service Provider). Click Next to continue.

Step 5: For both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, create a name for your Wi-Fi Network and a password. Your wireless devices (i.e., tablets, smartphones, and laptops) will need to have this information entered to be able to connect to your wireless network.

Step 6: Continue with the Setup Wizard to finish configuring your DIR-817LW/818LW router. Once completed, the Internet LED will turn green indicating that your router is connected to the Internet.

 

Note: Setting up “mydlink” is optional and not required for the router to function.

Step 1: Plug the DAP-1520 into a wall outlet within wireless range of your router.

Step 2: Open the wireless utility on your computer, select the name (SSID) of the DAP-1520 network, and enter the password (both of these are found on the included Wi-Fi Configuration Card).

Step 3: Then open a web browser and enter http://dlinkap.local in to the address bar. You can also use the IP address http://192.168.0.50.

Step 4: The default username is Admin and the password is to be left blank. Click Login.

Step 6: Click Next.

Step 7: To set up your network manually, select the second option from the setup wizard menu. Click Next to continue.

Step 8: Select the wireless network that you wish to use as your uplink (source) from the list by clicking on it. Once you have selected the uplink network you wish to use, click Select.

Step 9: Enter the password for your uplink network. Click Next to continue.

Step 10: The DAP-1520 will re-broadcast the Wi-Fi connection from the uplink router as an extended Wi-Fi network. An SSID and password will automatically be generated for both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks. If you wish to change these settings, enter the SSID and password that you wish to apply to the extended Wi-Fi network(s). Click Next to continue.

Step 11: The setup process is now complete. A summary page will appear showing the settings for both the connection to the uplink router, and the extended Wi-Fi network. It is recommended that you make a record of this information for future reference. Click Save.

A green check mark between the Uplink Router and DAP-1520 icons indicates that there is a successful connection between the uplink router and D-Link DAP-1520.

You will need the remote MAC address of the DWL-2200AP you are bridging to.

Step 1: Connect the DWL-2200AP to your PC using an Ethernet cable.

Step 2: Your computer will need to be in the same IP address range as the DWL-2100AP for configuration. The default IP address is 192.168.0.50.

Step 3: Open a web browser and enter in the IP address of the access point (http://192.168.0.50). The username is admin (all lower case) and the password is blank (nothing).

Step 4: Click on the Advanced tab and then click on Mode on the left side. At the top, click the PtP Bridge radio button. Enter the remote MAC address of the device you want to bridge to (IE 50:23:AB:D4:56:E1). Then click onApply to save your changes.

Step 5: Repeat the instructions for the remote access point. Click Apply to save your settings.

Note: If you have encryption enabled, ensure the key matches on both access points. Also, ensure that both access points do not have the same IP address. By default, the IP address is 192.168.0.50.

Step 1 Log into the web-based configuration by opening up a web browser and typing in the IP address of the access point (192.168.0.50).

Step 2 The default username is admin (all lower case) and the password is blank (nothing). Click OK.

Step 3 Click on the Advanced tab and then click Encryption on the left side. Select the Wireless Band (DWL-7100AP only).

Step 4 Click the radio button next to Shared Key and then click Enabled next to Encryption. Make sure your other wireless devices are set to Shared Key.

Step 5 Next to Key Type, select HEX or ASCII. You will need to use the same key on all your wireless devices.

  • HEX – use 0-9 and A-F only.
  • ASCII – All numbers and letters.Step 6 Next to Key Size, select the level of encryption (64, 128, or 152-bit).

    Step 7 You can enter up to 4 different keys. Select the key you want to use from the Valid Key drop-down.

    Step 8 Enter your encryption key. You make this up yourself. If you selected HEX, then enter a key made up of a combination of numbers (0-9) and letters (A-F). For example – A4572BCC19 (HEX).

    Step 9 Click Apply to save settings.

    Note: If you are configuring your access point from a wireless adapter, you will lose connectivity as soon as you click Apply. You must enable WEP on your adapter and enter the same exact key as you entered on your access point.

MAC filters will allow you to allow/deny access to wired and wireless clients based upon the clients MAC address.

Step 1 Open a web browser and type the IP address of the gaming router in the address bar (default is 192.168.0.1). Press Enter.

Step 2 The default password is blank (nothing). Click Log In.

Step 3 Click Advanced at the top and then click MAC Address Filter on the left side.

Step 4 In the Filter Settings section select MAC Filter Enabled and configured the following:

  • Mode – Select only allow listed machines to only allow listed computers to connect to the gaming router or only deny listed machines to allow all computers to connect, except for those listed.
  • Filter Wireless Clients – (DGL-4300) Select this option to apply the MAC filter settings to the wireless interface.
  • Filter Wired Clients – (DGL-4300) Select this option to apply the MAC filter settings to the wired interface.

Step 5 In the Add MAC Addresssection select Enabled and enter the MAC address of the computer, select it using the drop-down list to the right, or click Clone Your PC-¦s MAC Address to add the MAC address of the computer you are using.

Step 6 Click Save to save the new settings.
