·Easy to view and manage your camera DCS-932L from mydlink.com
·Compact design with night vision that lets you view 24/7
·Wireless connectivity
·VGA (640×480) resolution
·4x digital zoom
·Price: $99.99

Here’s a few scenarios for using the D-Link Camera:

·Keeping an eye on the kids: only if they are your kids!
·Checking up on home intruders; and being able to watch what they steal.
·Making sure the babysitter stays out of trouble of if she’s wearing that short skirt you love.
·Making sure that cheese soufflé you’re cooking doesn’t catch fire while you’re downing tequila shots at a bar across town.
·Use as a wingman tool to coax women back to your place by showing them your place.

The device D-Link DCS-932L is a wireless home network surveillance camera, which enables you to watch the goings on in your home – from anywhere in the world – at ANY TIME POSSIBLE.

OUT OF THE BOX WOW FACTOR: 7

The wheels of possibility begin churning as I remove the D-Link camera from its box. This small, sleek device allows 24/7 monitoring of what ever is stationed on the other side of its lens. But it gets cooler because we now live……..IN THE FUTURE!!!!! (Note a tons of exclamation points.)

How it works is, you connect the camera up to the Internet via plugging the gadget into your D-Link router. Navigate to the D-Link website and download the software onto your computer and register an account. Now here’s where it gets cool: with your Smartphone, download the My D-Link Lite app. Once done, you can open the app on your phone and see the camera footage of your home in real-time. WELCOME TO THE FUTURE! Well, almost real-time; there’s a second or two delay. But still… WELCOME BACK TO THE FUTURE!

Not only is the footage in color (well, mostly black-and-white) but you can also pick up audio as well. Sounds like the perfect device to install at the Topless Women Pillow Fight Factory. If that’s not your bag, you can access your home footage from anywhere in the world – if you don’t have access to a Smartphone, then simply click onto the Internet to see the footage The only small drawback is, you are only given a one minute time limit with the amount of footage you can watch, before you have to refresh the app. The D-Link app also allows you to take snapshot frame grabs and zoom in and zoom out of the frame, and has night vision as well.

D-Link announced two new storage arrays Tuesday for small to midsized businesses (SMBs): The DSN-4000 Series xStack iSCSI SAN arrays, which have a maximum capacity of 32 TB.

When I think of D-Link, I think of that wireless Internet router I bought years ago from Circuit City. D-Link had never entered my mind for storage. Until now. It turns out that the company has models ranging from the consumer-class, two-bay ShareCenter network storage with USB Printer Port (2 TB) to the new DSN-4000 Series, which has a maximum capacity of 160 TB.

The DSN-4000 Series consists of the DSN-4100 and DSN-4200 storage arrays and the DSN-4000 3U 16-bay expansion array. Both arrays use iSCSi to connect to the network and both support a mixture of serial ATA (SATA) and serial attached SCSI (SAS) drives. The arrays replace the previous generation DSN-3200-10 and DSN-2100-10. Further, each array is available in a 3U (5.25-inch) high enclosure that holds 16 2-TB drives.

As many as 80 drives can be supported by adding the drive to the DSN-4000 expansion array for 160 TB of external storage.

D-Link doesn’t restrict the type of drive used to a single manufacturer. Customers can choose from a variety of manufacturers to populate their arrays.

The D-Link DSN-4000 series also offers virtualization capability at the volume level to enable data migration, volume expansion, or reconfiguration. Since drives are not tied to their expansion chassis, they can be migrated among xStack Storage Arrays.
The DSN-4200 differs from the DSN-4100 in the number of data ports connecting it to the network. The D-Link DSN-4100 has four 1-GbE ports; the DSN-4200 has eight ports.

D-Link storage arrays are expected to be available in November from D-Link and online retailers such as CompuUSA, TigerDirect, NewEgg, and Amazon. The DSN-4100 is priced at $4,999.99; the DSN-4200 is $6,199.99; and, the D-Link DSN-4000 is $3,199.99.

Static IP Client:

You may obtain a static or fixed IP address and other network information from your network administrator for your camera. A static IP address will ease you for accessing your camera in the future.

IP Address: The fixed IP address Subnet Mask: The default value is “255.255.255.0.” Used to determine if the destination is the same subnet.

Default Gateway: The gateway used to forward frames to destinations in a different subnet. Invalid gateway settings may cause the failure of transmissions to a different subnet.

PPPoE settings:If you are using a PPPoE connection, enable it and enter the User Name and Password for your PPPoE account. You can get this information from your Internet service provider (ISP).

Port Settings:

You may configure a Second HTTP port that will allow you to connect to the network camera via a standard web browser. The port can be set to a number other than the default TCP ports 80. A corresponding port must be opened on the router. For example, if the port is changed to 1010, users must type http://192.168.0.100:1010 instead of only http://192.168.0.100”.

UPnP Settings:

Channel:

The default setting is channel 6. Select the same channel that is using by other wireless devices within your network. When there is interference from the wireless networks that overlap with one another, you may change the channel to obtain maximum performance for your connection.

Connection Mode:

Infrastructure is a wireless connection using an access point as a transmission point of all wireless devices. Ad-Hoc is a wireless connection used without an access point, where your DCS-930L is directly connecting to your PC. This is done using the on-board wireless adapter on the D-Link DCS-930L connected to a wireless adapter on the PC.

Site Survey:

This page will allow you to select a wireless network that the D-Link DCS-930L was able to detect.

Wireless Security Mode:

For security, there are three choices; None, WEP, and WPA-PSK / WPA2-PSK. Select the same encryption method that is being used by your wireless device/ router.

WEP:

WEP provides security by encrypting data over your wireless network so that it is protected as it is transmitted from one wireless device to another. To gain access to a WEP network, you must know the key. The key is a string of characters that you create. When using WEP, you must determine the level of encryption. The type of encryption determines the key length. 128-bit encryption requires a longer key than 64-bit encryption.

WPA-PSK / WPA2PSK Settings:

An appropriate Preshared Key, which is needed in order to connect to the wireless network.

1.Do I need router or access point to use the Boxee box?

You can connect your Boxee Box to your Internet connection either wired or wirelessly. You must have a network router or access point supporting Wi-Fi and/or Ethernet.

2.During the initial setup of my Boxee Box, why is there no display or video signal detected?

Boxee Box will only work with an HDMI compatible television which supports screen resolutions of either PAL, NTSC, 720p, 1080i or 1080p. Other resolutions will not work.

● Check that your HDMI is connected properly.
● Restart the Boxee Box.

3.Why did my screen turn black after upgrading the firmware on my Boxee Box?

The latest Boxee firmware has made some changes that have affected the use of some DVI to HDMI Converters.

Boxee is aware of this issue and has come up with a firmware fix.

Download the Boxee Box firmware at http://dl.boxee.tv/version/dlink.dsm380/1.1.3.19252/boxee.iso. The downloaded file will be named boxee.iso, and that name must be maintained.

Copy the boxee.iso file to a USB thumb/flash drive. Make sure to properly eject the flash drive after copying the file.
Power down the Boxee Box.

Power up the Boxee Box by pressing and holding the power button for 6-10 seconds. Upon release, the Box will boot with the logo turned orange.

After the Recovery Menu appears, connect your thumb drive to the Boxee Box, wait 2 seconds, then select Upgrade from USB from the menu, and follow on-screen instructions.

4.Why is my Boxee Box remote control behaving strangely?

This may be caused by interference (from other wireless devices or other Boxee Boxes in the vicinity). We recommend that you pair the remote control with the Boxee Box.

5.I forgot my password to Boxee, What do I do?

If you forget your password for Boxee, click here: Forgot my Boxee Password

After following the onscreen instructions an email will be sent to your email with instructions on how to change your password.

If you do not receive the email, be sure to check your spam filter.

6.Are there monthly fees to use the Boxee?

Boxee does not charge you any monthly fees. Boxee channels offer you high-quality entertainment for free. However, some channels do require subscriptions such as MLBTV.
