Troubleshooting Tips

Keyboard: If your keyboard is not functional, not detected, or there is a keyboard error, check the following:

  • Make sure that the keyboard is properly connected to the computer and to the KVM switch. Check that the keyboard is plugged into the correct USB/PS2 keyboard port and not the USB/PS2 mouse port.
  • Verify that the keyboard works when plugged into the computer directly.
  • If you have multiple operating systems installed on your computer, please contact your motherboard/computers manufacture for information on enabling USB/PS2 support on your system.

Mouse: If your mouse is not functional, not detected or there is a mouse error, check the following:

  • Make sure that the mouse is properly connected to the computer and to the KVM switch. Check that the mouse is plugged into the correct USB/PS2 mouse port and not the USB/PS2 keyboard port.
  • Verify that the mouse works when plugged into the computer directly.
  • Try using a different mouse.
  • If you are having trouble with the mouse movement, try resetting the switch by pressing Scroll Lock + Scroll Lock + M.
  • Do not move the mouse or press any mouse buttons when switching from one PC to another.
  • Try resetting the mouse by unplugging it from the DKVM for about 3 seconds and reconnection it.

Video: If the image on your monitor is not clear, check the following:

  • Verify that the video monitor cables are inserted properly.
  • Try lowering the resolution and refresh rate of your monitor.
  • Try using a shorter video cable.

After you have completed the D-Link DHP-301 Utility installation wizard, double-click the D-Link DHP-301 PLC Utility icon on your desktop to start the configuration of the DHP-301.

DHP-301A

This tutorial also applies to DHP-300 and DHP-303.

The utility provides you with the option of setting your own unique Network ID and the ability to prioritize traffic passing through the network.

DHP-301B

Configure the PLC connected nodes first (the remote DHP-301 which is not connected to the PC), and configure the ETH connected.

node last (the local DHP-301 connected to the PC).
Note: If you configure the ETH node first and change the Net ID or Encryption Key, you will not have access to the PLC nodes.

This screen shows the current configuration of the DHP-301. You can modify any of the parameters and click Next to save your configuration.

• Net ID: Powerline network name (case sensitive).

Default is D-Link DHP-301

• Encryption Key: Powerline network password (alphanumeric).
Default is DHP-301

• Password: Configuration Assistant password (alphanumeric).
Default is admin

• Alias: Device name (case sensitive).
Default is Device 1, Device 2, etc…

Note: Net ID and Encryption Key can be changed to prevent unauthorized access to your powerline network. Make sure the Net ID and Encryption Key of the devices within your powerline network are the same to enable data transmission.

If you are finished configuring this node you need to configure the rest of the PLC nodes before you configure the ETH node.
Click the Next button to continue. Once you have configured all nodes, click Finish to exit the utility.

If you forgot your configuration password, please click cancel and proceed to next step.

This is brought on by an more mature driver problem. Unfortunately, theD-Link DFE-530TX cannot run below the NDIS 4.0 driver in Win95 (950 and 95A). centered for the microsof company specification, the Win95 (950 and (95A) demands the NDIS 3.0 driver. house windows 95 OSR2 and house windows 98 need the NDIS 4.0 driver.

Follow the subsequent actions to fix this bug:

Step 1: Remove the DFE-530TX adapter in Network Configuration.

Step 2: Delete the NETDLFET.INF file in the \WINDOWS\INF directory.

Step 3: Delete the DLDFET.SYS fiel in the \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.

Step 4: Restart the computer and allow Windows 95 to auto-detect the DFE-530TX. If using Win950 or Win95A, poin to the Netdlfet.inf file inside the Win95 folder on the driver diskette. If using Win95B or Win98, point to the Netdlfet.inf file on the root of the driver diskette.

Step 5: provide the Win95 or Win98 compact disk and make particular that all documents are found out near to the compact disk or driver diskette.

Step 6: before to restarting, confirm in equipment Manager below system Adapters how the DFE-530TX is utilizing the readily available assets and confirm how the system Configuration has the corrrect clients, protocols, and document and printer sharing.

If this does not work, the only other dilemma is definitely an IRQ conflict.

dlink-de805tp

1.D-Link DE-805TP cannot share Internet

If you are sharing the Internet with this device, it will not work unless:

(1) You connect this hub to a router.
(2) You have multiple IP addresses from your ISP.

Hubs and switches cannot split the Internet connection. You will need to purchase a router or contact your ISP to obtain multiple IP addresses, which may increase your monthly Internet cost.

2.DE-805TP Port #1 does not work

The uplink port is shared with port #1. They cannot be in use at the same time. If you are using both the uplink port and port #1, usually the entire hub will not pass data.

3. DE-805TP how to uplink to another hub / switch

You can always connect an ethernet hub/switch to another hub/switch. Some hubs/switches have uplink ports, and others do not. The configuration for all scenarios is listed below:

NORMAL PORT TO NORMAL PORT —- CROSSOVER CABLE
UPLINK PORT TO UPLINK PORT —- CROSSOVER CABLE
UPLINK PORT TO NORMAL PORT —- NORMAL/PATCH CABLE
NORMAL PORT TO UPLINK PORT —– NORMAL/PATCH CABLE

Remember, if you have a link light than the cable is right.

4.DE-805TP not getting a link light

If you are not getting a link light, try the following:

- Make sure that the cable is good. Check connection on the other end of the cable. A link light indicates a good connection with whatever is connected to the device.

- Try a different port on the switch. If you can connect, then the switch may be defective.

- Try a shorter cable.

- Possible Auto Sense failure. To address this issue you can avoid using NWay by manually setting the speed of the Ethernet adapter. You should first try setting the speed of the NIC to 10Mbps/Half Duplex, also listed as 10Mbps. If you are able to get a connection after doing this, than you can go back and increase the speed to get the maximum performance in this environment.

In Windows the speed of the Ethernet adapter can be set through the properties of the card. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > select Network and Dial-up Connections. If using Windows 9X – Me select the properties of your Ethernet Adapter > Select the Advanced Tab > the speed setting will be displayed as Link Speed, Connection Type, etc.

If using Windows 2000 – XP, Right click your Ethernet Adapter and select properties > click Configure > select the Advanced tab > the speed setting will be displayed as Link Speed, Connection Type, etc.

5.Forgot Password / Cannot Reset

All D-Link Managed Hubs and Switches do not have an external hardware reset. If the current Administrative password is not known, the unit must be sent to D-Link to be restored to factory default. If the return period specified by the point of purchase has not expired, then you must return the product to the point of purchase for an exchange or refund. Otherwise, you must contact Technical Support.

Toll free Technical Support is available at 877-45D-LINK (877-453-5465). Technical Support is available from 6am – 6pm Pacific Standard Time, Monday through Friday. Please give Technical Support the number in the subject line of this e-mail for reference purposes.
