D-Link has promoted channel veteran Nick Tidd as its new president. Tidd had been serving as vice president of sales for D-Link Pan America and vice president of marketing for D-Link North America. In those roles he focused on making operations more efficient and on selling customer centric solutions.

Tidd joined D-Link in August 2008 and his previous work experience has included serving as vice president of global channel sales at 3Com and as a strategic advisory board member at Blue Roads.

D-Link said in a statement that Tidd’s “fresh perspective, new ideas and proven strategies will play a major role in propelling D-Link to a leadership position in the Americas.” The company promised that D-Link would focus on success in mid-market and enterprise environments while continuing to support the small business and medium business customer and the small office/home office customer.

Under Tidd, D-Link North America has both grown and significantly improved operations, resulting in increased margins and better profitability, the company said.

D-Link also announced that Michael Fox has been promoted to vice president of U.S. Solutions Channels Sales, overseeing the pending launch of D-Link’s new Channel Partner Program. He will focus on supporting field application engineers and the company’s expansion into the federal government market.

D-Link named Patrick Piwowarczyk as vice president of U.S. Enterprise Sales, specifically focusing on growing end-user business. Michael Walsh has been named vice president of information technology for North America to oversee the company’s migration to salesforce.com and other operational improvements.

Phyllis McCullagh has been named vice president of sales operations to lead the sales operations and distribution team. And, Mark Ciprietti is the new vice president and general manager of business solutions sales for D-Link Canada.
