The schedule configuration option is used to manage schedule rules for various firewall and parental control features. This will allow you to set a time restriction on when firewire filters will take effect.

Step 1: Open a web browser and type the IP address of the D-Link DIR series router into the address bar (default is 192.168.0.1).

Step 2: The default username is admin (all lower case) and the default password is blank (nothing). Click on OK.

Step 3: Click on the Tools tab at the top and then click on Schedule on the lefthand side.

Step 4: Configure the following:

  • Name – Give your schedule a name
  • Day(s) – Check the box for All Week or select the desired time frame.
  • All Day 24hrs – Enabling this will have the rule active for a period of 24hrs.
  • Start and End time – If 24hrs is not checked you will need to configure your start and end time.

Step 5: Click on Save Settings to save your configuration.

There is no way to have different schedules for different days however. Big flaw in my mind. I can’t have a different schedule on weekends versus work days. Real bad design.

How do you get these schedules to actually DO something? The instructions just leave you hanging in that respect with the next steps being unsaid. Example on a DIR-615 I am trying to have the wireless turned off overnight as the distributor notes indicated was possible for this unit, but there certainly isn’t an obvious way to do that. What needs to be said in the built in help is that now that you have a schedule, you next need to go set rules and such controls under the Advanced tab.

Is it possible to shutt off wifi completely with these rules or does the wifi stay on?

My DIR 600 won’t allow me to add any schedules. All controls are disabled and greyed out. There isn’t any info why.

The only thing that is out of the ordinary is that I have turned off the routing part and only use it as an access point.
