1.Can the D-Link Network Camera be used outdoors?
The Network Camera is not weatherproof. It needs to be equipped with a weatherproof case to be used outdoors and it is not recommended.
2.What is the difference between D-Link D-ViewCam and the traditional surveillance system?
D-Link D-ViewCam records video in MJPEG and MPEG4 formats, stores high quality image data on computer hard disks, and provides easy query and review of the stored video. Traditional surveillance systems use videotape for storage and review, which is hard to managed, time consuming and the recorded video will degrade over a period of time or usage.
3.What is the Lux Factor for my Internet camera?
Lux is a unit of illumination equal to one candle intensity or equal to one lumen per square meter.
Note: Lower LUX value cameras work better in low light.

4.Why use the D-Link D-ViewCam Intelligent Solution?
D-Link D-ViewCam is the bundled video surveillance system software that provides advanced security monitoring and device management functions to use with D-Link Internet cameras. This software uses IP technology to provide comprehensive management functions such as system controls, live video feeds and archived recordings.

I am trying to set up a DCS 900 with a DIR 615 for remote monitoring. I have successfully done it with a Linksys router, but I am having trouble with the DIR615. I have opened port 80 in port forwarding, and also opened port 80 in the virtual server. In the DCS 900 I have also set it to use port 80, set the default gateway of the camera to my routers internal ip. When I go outside my network and enter the WAN address of the router that has been assigned by my ISP with a :80 on the end I get an error message (page not found). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have two DCS-900W cameras, but not how to configure to see the two from anywhere.
My internet service is static IP and would like help to set and view multiple cameras from anywhere.
If you configure only a camera, opening port 8080 in the House and the modem and the router I get to see, but when I set the second I can not see
Thanks
