Seamless Integration

The Web Smart switch DES-1210 is designed to provide SMB users complete control over the network. With Ethernet and Gigabit copper ports capable of connecting to existing Cat.5 twisted-pair cables, this switch eliminates the need for a complex reconfiguration process. The DES-1210 allows for a flexible connection to a backbone or servers. Additionally, all ports support auto-negotiation of MDI/MDI-X crossover, or configurable auto MDI, and therefore do away with crossover cables or uplink ports. This brings inexpensive and easy connectivity to your desktop.

QoS, Bandwidth Control

The switch is perfect for deployment in a VoIP environment, as it supports Auto Voice VLAN and Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP) QoS for VoIP application. Auto Voice VLAN will automatically place voice traffic from an IP phone to an assigned VLAN and by doing so enhance the VoIP service.

Secure Your Network

The innovative D-Link Safeguard Engine function protects the switch against traffic flooding caused by virus attacks. The DES-1210-28 switch supports 802.1X port-based authentication, allowing the network to be authenticated through external RADIUS servers. In addition, the Access Control List (ACL) feature enhances network security and helps to protect the internal IT network by allowing an administrator to restrict the access of a network through a variety of means including MAC address, IP, UDP/TCP, and even VLAN ID.

With wide variety of manageability functions such as an intuitive SmartConsle Utility, easy-to-use Web browser, SNMP-based management, compact command lines, and integration with D-Link D-View 6.0. Why can´t my two powerline adapters connect?

1. The two adapters must be connected to power outlets and electrical wiring which belong to the same electrical system.

2. Connect the adapter directly to the wall socket instead of a powerstrip/surge protector. Filtering circuits in the surge protector can interfere with power line technology.

Why is my power-line ethernet adapter slower than 200Mbps?

200Mbps is the theoretical physical rate. Actual throughput will vary. Network conditions and environmental factors, including volume of network traffic, and network overhead affects actual throughput rate.

Specific factors which may reduce your effective speeds are power fluctuations EM interference from induction motors such as refrigerators, washer/dryer, microwaves, hair dryers, etc.and poor grounding.

Bandwidth management is the process of measuring and controlling the communications (traffic, packets) on a network link, to avoid filling the link to capacity or overfilling the link, which would result in network congestion and poor performance.

Bandwidth Control is a feature that allows the Network Administrator to specify the allowed rate of incoming and outgoing traffic on a per port basis. All D-Link switches that support Bandwidth Control will allow you to limit the Tx and Rx rates to a minimum value (see the manual for the minimum granularity value for your switch).
