Method 1

Step 1: Open an Internet browser (such as Internet Explorer) and enter http://dlinkrouter.local or into the address bar.



Step 2: Enter the password for your Admin account in the field provided. If you have not changed this password from the default, leave the field blank. Click Log In.



Step 3: Move the cursor to the Settings tab and then click Wireless from the drop-down menu.



Your wireless network information should now be visible, including your wireless passwords for both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks.


Method 2


If you’ve registered your router with mydlink, you may log in to the mydlink web portal atwww.mydlink.com to modify your router’s settings.


Step 1: Go to https://www.mydlink.com



Step 2: Log in to mydlink with your existing mydlink account name and password.



Step 3: Choose the router from My Devices on the left-hand side of the page. Go to the Settings tab.



Step 4: Go to Basic Settings and click the arrow for the wireless band you wish to see the password for. The information for the band you selected will appear. Check the Show Password box next to the Wi-Fi Password field to view your password. You can also enter a new password at this time.



Step 5: Click Save if you have made changes to your settings.



Step 6: To confirm the changes, click Yes. It will take at least 80 seconds to save the changes and reboot the router.

Step 1: Ensure your USB drive is properly inserted into the USB port on your D-Link DIR-860L.


Step 2: Check USB driver/ SD card status from D-Link router’s Web UI.


Step 2.1: Open an Internet browser (such as Internet Explorer) and enter http://dlinkrouter, http://dlinkrouter.local or into the address bar.


Step 2.2: Enter your login information. If you have not changed the default settings, the username is Admin and the password field should be left blank. Click Login.



Step 2.3: Click on the Setup tab at the top then click Storage from the menu on the left-hand side.


Step 2.4: Check the storage status. The information displayed here should reflect the characteristics of the USB drive plugged into the USB port.


Step 3: From a computer connected to the router:


Windows XP

  1. Click Start > Run

Step 1 Verify the IP address of the computer you want to access.

Step 2 Access the router’s web management by entering its IP address in the browser ( Username isadmin and the password is left blank.


Step 3 Click the Advanced tab, then click the Virtual Server button.

Step 4 Enter the following information:

  • Click Enabled
  • Private IP address: Enter the IP address of the computer you want to access.
  • Protocol Type: Select Both.
  • Public Port/Private Port: Enter 3389 in both the public and private port fields.
  • Schedule: Click Always.

Step 5 Click Apply and then Continue.

Step 6 To access the computer from the Internet, you must use the WAN IP address of the router, not the computer. To get the WAN IP address of the router, login as above and click on the Status tab.

NAT does not allow forwarding the same service port to multiple computers.
