I have a house of 1200 SFT, will it cover whole house, when i use WIFI?

Please note that actual data throughput and coverage will vary from home to home based upon the environmental conditions in the area and where the D-Link router is actually placed within the network.

Network conditions and environmental factors, including volume of network traffic, buildings materials, construction, network overhead and competing network overlap from other wireless devices and networks may impede and affect the actual data throughput rate as well. These variable conditions along with any environmental factors such as the weather and humidity which also have an impact on the actual wireless signal range make it very difficult to determine your actual signal range.

However, there are also other available options to assist you in increasing your wireless range as well such as changing channels on the access point to see if signal strength improves with each channel change and or adding a wireless range extender such as our D-Link DAP-1320 product, which can amplify a weak wireless signal from within your network and retransmit it out therefore extending your wireless range as well. The Wi-Fi Baby Camera D-Link DCS-825L transforms your mobile device into a versatile baby monitor to help you stay connected to your most valuable treasure no matter where you are in the world.

Baby Monitor for Modern Parents

Unlike traditional baby monitors with a parent alert and a child unit, the Wi-Fi Baby Camera is embedded with technology that allows total control from your smartphone or tablet.

mydlink Baby App

Whether you’re at home or on the go, the mydlink baby app keeps you connected to your baby even when you’re phone is locked. On top of that, the megapixel camera delivers 720p high-definition visuals with a four times digital zoom function for easy and clear viewing. D-Link Wifi Day/Night Baby Camera with Remote Monitoring DCS-825L User Reviews

DCS-825L User reviews

1.(From www.amazon.com)I have been looking for a baby camera for a while now and when i saw this product i was excited that it would be perfect. As far as image quality is concerned, this is much better than a lot of the competition out there BUT only if you can get this to connect. The initial process is a painful 10 step process that will not work if you use the popular WEP wifi encryption in your household. The monitor supports WEP but “its not available yet” according to D-link. So without proper wifi support, this monitor is no different than any other local network based connection. Also, there is no proper iOS notification system in place, you have to open the app to see the notifications, obviously not helpful for a baby monitor which you want real time notifications.

i would buy it again after more positive reviews here and on the dlink 825L message board, which is currently full of people with similar issues and no real timeline for fixes.

So 2 stars because the hardware is great but the software and installation issues makes it unsuitable for its main purpose as a baby monitor

2.The camera transmits 720P video signals over your home’s Wi-Fi network, which allows you to access the feed from anywhere on earth using the mydlink Baby Mobile app on your smartphone. But if your home’s lacking a wireless network, D-Link’s Baby Camera can work as a standalone hotspot letting you connect a mobile device directly to it.

Infrared LEDs automatically come on when the room gets too dark, letting you monitor a crib from up to 15 feet away, and a temperature sensor can automatically send notifications to your phone when a nursery gets too hot or too cold. The Baby Camera also has built-in sound and motion detectors and will send you an alert when a child has become active after a nap, or you can use it to trigger a recording that’s saved locally to a microSD card.

Of course if you’re not actually there to satiate a crying baby there’s not much you can do to get it back to sleep. So the D-Link Baby Camera even includes five pre-recorded lullabies you can remotely trigger that should at least serve as a temporary distraction. It will be available for $180 starting in January, which gives you plenty of time to give your nanny their two-week notice.(From:http://gizmodo.com/d-links-nightvision-baby-cam-can-play-lullabies-for-re-1494081561)
