How to set up IPv6 in ASUS Wireless Router?

ASUSWRT supports IPv6 after firmware version—“3.0.0.3.78”.

However, please refer to your ISP to get more information about IPv6.(connection type, IPv6 IP setting and DNS etc.)

1. Please launch a browser and go to the setting page of router; the default website of ASUS router’s setting page is http://192.168.1.1or http:router.asus.com.

2. The steps of setting IPv6 are as follows:

(1) Click “IPv6” in “Advanced Settings”
(2) Select the “Connection type” according to your ISP.

WAN >Internet Connection> WAN Connection Type set [PPPoE], please select IPv6 Connection type set [Native]

WAN >Internet Connection> WAN Connection Type set [Automatic IP], please select IPv6 Connection type set [Passthrough]

WAN >Internet Connection> WAN Connection Type set [Static IP], please select IPv6 Connection type set [Static IPv6]

For other IPv6 types, please ask your ISP provider for setup information.

3. The steps of setting IPv6 IP and DSN are as follows:
(1) Please use the information from your ISP to fill in “IPv6 Prefix”, “Prefix Length” and “IPv6 Gateway” under the “IPv6 LAN Setting” section.
(2) Please use the information from your ISP to fill in “IPv6 DNS Server” under the “IPv6 DNS Setting” .
(3) Click the “Apply” button and wait for the settings to finish updating.

4. Reboot the system.

How to enter the ASUS Wireless Router router’s GUI (ASUSWRT)

※ NOTE: When you login to the Web GUI for the first time, you will be automatically directed to the Quick Internet Setup (QIS) page.

Follow the below steps to login to the web GUI:

1. Enter the IP address of your device in browser, then key in your username and password to login in your ASUS networking device.

ASUS Wireless Router uses a web-based user interface that allows you to configure the router by any web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, or Google Chrome.

If you don’t know the IP address, type: http://router.asus.com in your browser for ASUS router models.

If you forgot the router IP address, please refer to the Asus Device Discovery Utility shown below to find the IP address based on your operating system.

2. Key in your router’s username and password on the login page. (Default username and password: admin)

 

※ Note: The default username and password used to login to the router settings page are NOT the SSID and password used to connect wirelessly to the router.

※ Note: If you forgot the user name and/or password, please restore the router to the factory default status.

Please press and hold the hardware reset button of the router for at least 8 seconds to reset the device.

You can find the Hardware Reset Button of router as shown below.

3. Now you can use the Web GUI to configure the settings of your ASUS Wireless Router.

How to configure the WAN settings on D-Link DI‑634M Super G with MIMO Wireless Router

Select your WAN connection:

·  Dynamic IPAddress

·  Static IPAddress

·  PPPoE

·  PPTP

·  L2TP

·  BigPondCable


 

Dynamic IPAddress

Step 1 Open a web browser and type the IP addressof the DI-634M in the address bar (default is192.168.0.1).

Step 2 The default username isadmin (all lower case) and the default password isblank (nothing). Click on OK.

Step 3 Click on the Home tab atthe top and then click on WAN on the leftside.

Step 4 Select Dynamic IPAddress.

Step 5 If your ISP requires a host name enter itnext to Host Name. If you want to use another MAC addressother than the MAC address of the WAN port enter it next to MACAddress and select Use MAC.

Step 6 Click on Apply to saveyour settings.


 

Static IPAddress

Step 1 Open a web browser and type the IP addressof the DI-634M in the address bar (default is192.168.0.1).

Step 2 The default username isadmin (all lower case) and the default password isblank (nothing). Click on OK.

Step 3 Click on the Home tab atthe top and then click on WAN on the leftside.

Step 4 Select Static IPAddress.

Step 5 Enter the IP address, subnet mask, ISPgateway address, and primary DNS and secondary (optional) DNSserver addresses.

Step 6 Click on Apply to saveyour settings.


 

PPPoE

Step 1 Open a web browser and type the IP addressof the DI-634M in the address bar (default is192.168.0.1).

Step 2 The default username isadmin (all lower case) and the default password isblank (nothing). Click on OK.

Step 3 Click on the Home tab atthe top and then click on WAN on the leftside.

Step 4 Select PPPoE.

Step 5 Select PPPoE andconfigure the following:

  • User Name – Enter your username
  • Password – Enter your password
  • Verfify Password – Confirm your password
  • Service Name – Enter a service name ifrequired by your ISP (optional)
  • MAC Address Enter a MAC address if required byyour ISP (optional)
  • Primary DNS Server – The IP address of theDomain Name Server. Your ISP will provide this information if it isrequired; otherwise, leave this box set to 0.0.0.0.(optional)
  • Secondary DNS Server – The IP address of theDomain Name Server. Your ISP will provide this information if it isrequired; otherwise, leave this box set to 0.0.0.0.(optional)
  • Maximum Idle Time – Enter the amount of time(in minutes) in which the DI-634M will disconnect your Internetconnection after inactivity
  • MTU – Enter the MTU. This is usually1492.

Connection Mode Select

  • Always on – A connection to the Internet isalways maintained.
  • Manual – You have to open up the Web-basedmanagement interface and click the Connect button manually any timethat you wish to connect to the Internet.
  • Connect on demand – A connection to theInternet is made as needed; and the connection is dropped after”Maximum Idle Time” minutes of no activity.

Step 6 Click on Apply to saveyour settings.


 

PPTP

Step 1 Open a web browser and type the IP addressof the DI-634M in the address bar (default is192.168.0.1).

Step 4 Select BigPond Cable andconfigure the following:

  • Username – Enter the Username
  • Password – Enter the Password
  • Verify Password – Re-enter password
  • Auth Server – Enter the Authentication Serveraddress
  • MAC Address – Enter your MAC address

Step 5 Click on Apply to saveyour settings.

To perform a factory reset on D-LINK router, please follow the steps below.

Step 1: With the unit on, place a paper clip into the hole on the back of the unit labeled Reset.

Step 2: Hold paper clip down for 10 seconds and release.

Step 3: The unit will reboot on its own. Once the WLAN light stops blinking, the unit is reset.

Resetting the router does not reset the firmware to an earlier version. It will change all settings back to factory defaults.

Note: The factory defaults username is admin, and there is no password.
